How to measure
My new Arcus Peach are great and makes my feet happy and free. The sole is thin and slightly soft, but thick enough to keep out cold weather (I've this far used them at +5 C).

I have had my Arcus Peach for a couple of weeks now. First impressions: I love the pale peach colour and the detailing around the sole. The colour goes with jeans and black trousers and skirts as well as it goes with a summer dress. I have very wide, flexible flat feet with a bunion on the right foot. Thanks to years of wearing toe spreaders combined with various makes of barefoot shoes, I don't experience any pain, my big toes are entirely flexible and all my toes have a good spread. Wearing barefoot shoes I no longer need to wear toe spreaders, and on my right foot I am experimenting using physio tape to straighten the big toe in shoes. It is my experience that, when you don't cram your feet into "normal" footwear, your feet do get wider; and I think your feet also get wider as you age (I am now 60, and started wearing zero drop shoes, though not all the time, at least a decade ago). Also some makes of so-called barefoot shoe that started out with reasonably wide toe boxes seemed to have bowed to market pressures and now have tapered toe boxes so that the big toe can't sit straight in the shoe. More space is allowed for the smaller toes, but the big toe is crushed towards the others, which is disastrous if you have flexible joints and so a propensity to bunions. My feet are not only wide, but short in length, and a women's European 38 is much narrower than the same shoe in a 40 or 41. In short, I have a LOT of trouble finding shoes that don't rub on either my bunion or the top of my third toe on the other foot. Another problem is that, about a year ago, after a period of doing a lot of walking on asphalt pavements in barefoot shoes with no cushioning, I developed pain in my heel which comes and goes but basically makes it difficult to walk without pain in any of my shoes – and I love to walk! Now I have the Arcus, which I chose for three reasons: the chunky style, so much more fashionable than many barefoot models; the generous toe box; and the thicker sole. They fit really well, without me having to loosen all the laces a ridiculous amount (I've barely had to loosen them at all). When I take the shoe off, I always inspect my big toe to see if it's been pushed over towards the other toes. These are literally the only shoes I own (and I own Merrells, Vivobarefoot, Birkenstock, Shapen, Xero and Groundies) where the problem big toe comes out straight, and I can even move it to left or right inside the shoe when I'm wearing them. They do look very wide, but I can live with it. I've believed for years that some day all shoes will be made this way! I do find them a bit chunky, but now I can walk without pain, I feel like I'm standing straighter, my tendency to lower back issues seems to have reduced, and I think they will be a great shoe now that winter is coming as most barefoot shoes offer poor protection in the cold and wet (not sure about the colour for very bad weather though). These shoes are more expensive than nearly all the other barefoot shoes out there, but honestly I think they're worth it. I'm seriously thinking of getting a second pair in black for the winter because I don't think you can put a price on maintaining your feet, and now I've tried them I don't want to be without them, so if I'm wearing them all the time it would be good to have two pairs to have some variety!

The Arcus Sand is my fourth pair of Wyde shoes. Finally, I took them on a hike and they passed the test. Firm grip on soil and stone. I felt no strain in the lower back, which is usually the case after a long hike. I am fully satisfied with Wyde.

Before I ordered my Arcus+ I was a bit sceptical, since I felt they looked like duckfeet;) But once I took them on, my feet and I just loved them! I started wearing them every day, during the whole day, but I think I was a little bit too eager since my legs started to protest after a few days. I wore my old shoes every other day for a while and that helped, but I also realized that my old shoes were not that wide as I thought so my toes did protest instead those days.
I realize that a lot of my back and kneeproblems comes from weak toe and footposition.
I think it would have helped if you put recommendations how to start using your shoes, together with the shoes in the shoebox.

This is my fourth pair of Wydes and except for sandals and flip-flops in summer I do not wear any other shoes anymore. The All-White pair is perfect for work where the dress code is all white.

Jag använder dom i mina hallux. Och barfota hemma. Känns skönt att kunna separera tårna. Jag har Mortons Neurom som jag hoppas kunna lindra. Har haft det i 15 år ca, men visste inte vad det var förrän jag läste i ett mejl från Wyde.
