Our shoes have a wide toe box that lets your toes spread out the way they're meant to. A lot of brands say this, but we actually do it.
This means your feet can be in their natural shape, and your big toe stays straight. This is good for your toes because it helps them stay aligned, strong, and work properly.
The sole of our shoes is really bendy, which means your foot can move freely. This flexibility is great for your big toe, as it helps it move well, which is important when you walk or run. It helps your foot change between being flexible and firm at the right times while you're walking.
Our shoes are designed so your weight is evenly spread across your whole foot when you stand or walk. This helps you walk and move in a more natural way. It's also good for the muscles in your heels and calves because it lets them move fully and get stronger. I am super stocked, how close they get to the Birkenstock ones but even better.
Only the outlinw of the sole is some millimeters wider than the cork insole in the area of the big toe.
I am not sure, if the straps of both shoes have the same length and position of the wholes.

Love the Maia sandals!! I was looking for a Birks-style sandal but wanted the comfort and health of a barefoot shoe. I typically wear size 8.5 in regular shoes. I have some other barefoot shoes (not Wyde brand) that are size 9. I struggled with choosing a size after ordering both women’s 7 and women’s 8. I ultimately went with women’s 7. I am probably between sizes— size 8 felt too big and were hard to walk in because of how loose they felt, but size 7 felt a little too small. I am glad I went with size 7 because after a couple of wears, they seem to fit perfectly now. The buckle clasp did rub on the top of my left foot during my first wear and was quite uncomfortable. However, that only happened during that first wear and I have since worn the sandals for hours and hours with no issue. They are super cute, they don’t look weird or oversized for being barefoot shoes. They are extremely comfortable! I just recently wore them for a long day of wedding set-up and decorating and was comfortable the whole time. I love the Maia’s and feel they are worth the cost. I would order these again when my first pair wear out!
I do wish there was not a return fee, although I understand why there is. I really needed to be able to try two sizes at once so I could compare and properly decide which was best, so the exchange process was not a good option for me.

These are now my all summer shoes! I have tried the Birks and Long Hard break in. Plus I still don’t find them comfortable. The Maia is comfortable right out of the box. Plus they don’t make my back hurt. Love them!

These are simply the best casual sandals I’ve ever worn. They are the perfect alternative to Birkenstocks and have plenty of room for your toes to splay. I’m normally a size 10 but needed a 9.5 for these to fit perfectly. They are the next best thing to bare feet!

I bought these looking for an alternative to my old go-to Birks that are no longer wide enough after transitioning to barefoot/minimalist footwear. Couldn’t have made a better choice! Har två, en för kontoret och en hemma som ska bli en utomhus sandal till sommaren. Även perfekt när man sjunger i kör och vill ha något som håller fötterna svala, men samtidigt lite dämpning för många timmars stående. Var sköna och tillräckligt mjuka redan vid öppning och blir ännu skönare när man använt dem ett tag.
Det enda negativa är att jag behövde gå ner en storlek jämfört med Wydes sneakers. D.v.s. storleksguiden borde uppdateras för dessa. Förutspådde detta, så jag köpte rätt från början.

Our shoes are available in full EU sizes. If you normally wear a half size, we recommend sizing up. The wide toe box accommodates slight size differences better than conventional shoes.
No. All Wyde shoes are designed with a wide, foot-shaped toe box as standard. You do not need to size up for width. Choose your size based on foot length only.
Wyde shoes share the core principles of barefoot footwear — wide toe box, zero drop, no toe spring, and flexible sole — but with more cushioning than ultra-minimalist barefoot shoes. Think of them as the bridge between conventional shoes and pure barefoot: all the natural foot function, with comfort for everyday wear on concrete and pavement.
Zero drop means the heel and toe are at the same height — like standing barefoot. There's no elevated heel pushing your weight forward. This promotes natural posture and movement. If you're used to flat shoes like Converse or Vans, zero drop will feel familiar.
Wyde shoes don't have traditional built-in arch support. They're designed with a zero-drop, flat sole that lets your foot muscles work naturally. If you need arch support, the insoles are removable so you can use your own orthotics.
Our wide, foot-shaped toe box gives your big toe room to sit in its natural position rather than being compressed. Many customers with hallux valgus choose Wyde specifically for this reason.
You have 30 days from delivery to initiate a return. Items must be in unused condition — indoor try-on is fine, but visible outdoor wear means we can't accept the return. Exchanges are free for eligible regions (European Union & United States). For refund returns, we deduct a small at-cost return fee from your refund.
