Bahé Alternatives for Wide Feet and Daily Wear

Bahé makes foot-shaped, zero-drop shoes in three sole thicknesses and builds a conductive "grounding" pathway into them. If you like that shape but want a leather upper, a different look or a wider choice of brands, there are good options. This comparison sets Bahé next to Wyde Footwear, Xero Shoes and Lems. It covers sole thickness, toe box width, uppers, where the shoes are made, prices and returns, as each brand lists them in October 2026.

What does Bahé offer?

Bahé sells zero-drop shoes with a foot-shaped toe box in three sole levels, called Modes. On the Bahé EU store in October 2026, the Revive Flex costs around €169, the Revive Adapt around €179 and the Revive Endurance around €189.

What are the Flex, Adapt and Endurance Modes?

The Modes are Bahé's three sole cushioning levels. Bahé lists the total stack height, including the removable insole, as 10 mm for Flex, 14 mm for Adapt and 22 mm for Endurance on its Revive and Rewild shoes. Zero drop means the heel and the front of the foot sit at the same height.

Flex has no midsole and is the thinnest option. Adapt adds a 6 mm midsole. Endurance adds a 14 mm midsole. Bahé says most models have a modular fit: you can remove the insole for more room, or add a second insole for a snugger fit, which gives roughly 6 mm of fit range in one shoe.

What are Bahé shoes made of?

The Revive upper and lining are 30% recycled polyester mesh, and the outsole is 65% natural rubber. Bahé lists the Revive as vegan. It also treats the footbed with an odour control finish and uses organic cotton laces.

Bahé also makes waterproof Rewild trail shoes and Rediscover hiking boots.

What is the grounding feature?

Bahé calls it the Ground Flow System. It is a conductive pathway from the foot to the ground, and Bahé lists its shoes as certified conductive in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2022. It is the feature Bahé puts at the centre of its range.

Why look beyond Bahé?

Three reasons come up: you want a leather upper, you do not need grounding, or you want to compare insole widths. Bahé is a good choice if none of those matter to you.

Leather sneakers are one example. Bahé's Revive range uses a mesh upper, while Wyde's Nova uses leather and Lems makes the Kourt with a full grain leather upper. Width is another. Wyde lists the insole width in centimetres for every size, and Bahé lists it in millimetres in its size guide, so you can compare the two directly.

All four brands make zero-drop shoes with room for the toes. They differ in how much sole sits under the foot, what the upper is made of and what the shoes cost.

How do Bahé, Wyde, Xero Shoes and Lems compare at a glance?

The biggest differences are stack height, upper material and where the shoes are made. The table sets out each brand's own figures for one typical everyday model, with prices as of October 2026.

How much sole does each brand put under the foot?

Bahé Revive Endurance and Wyde Soma both have a 22 mm stack height, and the Xero Shoes Prio has the least, at 5.5 mm plus a 3 mm insole. The other shoes in the table sit between 10 mm and 14 mm.

What does stack height measure?

Stack height is how much shoe sits between your foot and the ground. A higher number means more material under the foot. It is a useful way to compare brands that all use zero drop.

How much sole does a Wyde shoe have?

The Wyde Nova has a 10 mm stack height plus the insole. Wyde notes that the Nova looks as if it has a higher stack height, but that this is purely a visual effect. The Wyde Soma is a cushioned sneaker with a 22 mm stack height, an EVA midsole and a rubber outsole. It weighs 300 g in size 39.

Every Wyde model has a removable insole. If you want more cushioning in the same shoe, Wyde sells a Comfort Insole at 130 kr or €12 as of October 2026.

How much sole do Xero Shoes and Lems have?

Xero Shoes says the Prio uses 5.5 mm FeelTrue rubber with a removable 3 mm insole, so you can have more or less of a barefoot feel. A men's size 9 weighs 8.7 oz per shoe.

Lems lists a stack height for each shoe. The Primal Zen is 11.0 mm, the Kourt is 10.0 mm and the Primal 3 is 9.5 mm. The Primal Zen weighs 230 g in EU 43. All Lems shoes can be worn without the insole if you need more volume inside.

How do the toe boxes and widths compare?

All four brands give the toes room, but they describe width in different ways. Bahé and Wyde publish an insole width per size, Lems gives a width grade, and Xero Shoes describes the shape in words.

In EU 42, Bahé lists an insole width of 103 mm, or 10.3 cm, in its Revive, Rewild and Rediscover size guide. Wyde lists 11.2 cm in EU 42. Across the full size run, Bahé runs from 93 mm in EU 36 to 111 mm in EU 47, and Wyde from 10.0 cm in EU 36 to 12.2 cm in EU 47. Insole width is a measure of the shoe, not of your foot, and the sizes of the two brands do not line up one to one.

Bahé says it sits on the wider, higher-volume end of the barefoot-shoe range. Every Wyde model has a wide, foot-shaped toe box as standard, so you choose your Wyde size by foot length and do not size up for width.

Lems says most of its shoes are about a 2E width in the toe box, and they narrow to a regular width through the midfoot and heel. The Primal Zen uses the Lems WIDEST Natural-Shape fit. Xero Shoes describes the Prio as having a wider, foot-shaped toe box that lets the toes spread.

Which brands make a leather sneaker for daily wear?

Wyde, Lems and Xero Shoes all sell leather sneakers. Bahé's Revive range has a mesh upper.

The Wyde Nova is a leather sneaker handmade in Portugal. Nova Dual Black has an upper of LWG Gold certified nubuck and grain leather, a Coolmax lining and a rubber outsole. The leather varies by colourway. Nova White uses LWG Silver certified aniline leather, and Nova Patent Black uses patent leather. As of October 2026, the Nova costs 2,375 kr or €215, and Nova Patent Black costs 2,500 kr or €225.

LWG stands for Leather Working Group. Its audit assesses how a tannery measures, controls and reports the impact of its manufacturing operations.

The Lems Kourt has a full grain leather upper, a 10.0 mm stack height and a polyester lining, and costs around €165 on the Lems EU store. The Xero Shoes Prio Leather puts full-grain leather on the Prio shape and costs around €120 on the Xero Shoes EU store.

Where are the shoes made?

Wyde's leather models are made in Portugal and the Soma is made in China. Xero Shoes and Lems design their shoes in Colorado and have them made in China.

The Wyde Nova, Maia, Maia Strap and Nilo are handmade in Portugal, and Wyde says its leather models come from three family-run factories there. The Soma is made in China, at a factory Wyde describes as ISO 9001:2015 certified for quality management and BSCI audited.

Xero Shoes says it designs all its shoes in Colorado and that they are manufactured in China. Lems designs its shoes in-house in Boulder, Colorado, and has them manufactured in a family-owned factory in China.

What do the shoes cost?

As of October 2026, the shoes in this comparison cost from around €110 for the Xero Shoes Prio to €225 for the Wyde Nova Patent Black on each brand's EU store. Wyde also lists its prices in Swedish kronor on wydefootwear.com.

What does each model cost as of October 2026?

  • Bahé Revive Flex: around €169. Revive Adapt: around €179. Revive Endurance: around €189.
  • Wyde Nova: 2,375 kr or €215. Nova Patent Black: 2,500 kr or €225.
  • Wyde Soma: 1,875 kr or €179.
  • Xero Shoes Prio: around €110. Prio Leather: around €120.
  • Lems Primal Zen: around €150. Kourt: around €165.

How do returns and exchanges compare?

Xero Shoes gives the longest window on its EU store, at 45 days. Bahé, Wyde and Lems each give 30 days.

You have 30 days from the day you receive a Wyde order to register a return. You can try the shoes indoors on a clean floor, and they must come back unused and in the original box. Size exchanges are free in Sweden, the EU and the USA. For a refund, Wyde deducts €10 in the EU and 100 SEK in Sweden to cover the prepaid label and warehouse handling.

Bahé also has a 30-day return policy, and you can wear the shoes indoors to try them on. Customers pay return shipping, and where Bahé offers a prepaid label, its cost is deducted from the refund. Bahé says prepaid labels are only available for the UK and the USA.

On the Xero Shoes EU store, you can return or exchange within 45 days, as long as the shoes are brand new, unworn and unaltered. Xero Shoes deducts €7.50 from refunds if you use its return service.

The Lems EU store accepts returns within 30 days, in the same condition as they arrived, and asks you to try shoes on indoors on a carpeted surface. Return labels are sold at cost price. All European returns are processed as refunds, so for a different size you place a new order.

Which brand fits which priority?

Choose by what matters most to you. Bahé suits you if you want grounding and a choice of three sole levels, and Wyde suits you if you want a leather sneaker with an insole width listed for every size.

Who should choose Bahé over the others?

  • You want a shoe with the Ground Flow System, which Bahé lists as certified conductive.
  • You want a choice of three sole levels in the same shoe: 10 mm, 14 mm or 22 mm.
  • You want waterproof trail shoes or hiking boots from the same brand.
  • You want a vegan upper: Bahé lists the Revive as vegan.

Who should choose Wyde, Xero Shoes or Lems?

  • A leather sneaker for city wear: Wyde Nova, with a 10 mm stack height plus insole, or Lems Kourt, at 10.0 mm.
  • A cushioned sneaker with zero drop and a wide toe box: Wyde Soma, with a 22 mm stack height.
  • The thinnest sole of the four: Xero Shoes Prio, at 5.5 mm plus a removable 3 mm insole.
  • The longest EU return window: Xero Shoes, at 45 days.
  • A light shoe with a little more sole: Lems Primal Zen, at 11.0 mm and 230 g.

How is Wyde different from a barefoot shoe?

Wyde shoes share the principles of barefoot footwear but have more cushioning than ultra-minimalist barefoot shoes. Wyde describes them as the bridge between conventional shoes and barefoot shoes. Every Wyde model has a wide, foot-shaped toe box, zero drop, no toe spring and a flexible sole.

Zero drop means the heel and toes sit at the same height, like standing barefoot. Toe spring is the upward curve at the front of many shoes that lifts the toes off the ground. No Wyde model has it, so the toes rest flat. There is no traditional built-in arch support, and the insoles are removable, so you can use your own orthotics.

Wyde shoes are made for everyday wear on concrete and pavement. The range includes sneakers (Nova and Soma), sandals (Maia and Maia Strap, for which you choose one size down from your sneaker size), a slip-on (Nilo) and boots (Chelsea and Norra).

If you are coming from narrow, stiff shoes, Wyde suggests easing in gradually, because your feet need time to adjust. Wyde's support staff are trained foot specialists and/or physiotherapists, and you can reach them at support@wydefootwear.com or through the contact form on wydefootwear.com.

How do you choose your size when switching brands?

Measure your foot length and follow each brand's own advice, because the methods differ.

Wyde sells unisex, full EU sizes from 36 to 47, with no half sizes. Stand up, measure from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe, and compare the length with the size chart. If you are between sizes, size up. For the Maia and Maia Strap sandals, choose one size down from your Wyde sneaker size. For the full guide, read Wyde Footwear Sizing, Size Exchanges and Returns Explained.

Bahé advises against guessing from your usual shoe size and points to its size guide, where you can print a template or measure your foot. It suggests that your foot should ideally be around 10 mm shorter than the insole length in the guide.

Xero Shoes recommends ordering your usual size for the Prio. The Lems size guide asks you to measure your foot in centimetres and match it to its chart, and all Lems shoes are unisex.
